Our Volunteers are very important to us & we want them to have fun & fullfilling visits with PETS.
This is accomplished through orientation at facilities and group activites.
Orientation -
Once a dog/handler team meets the requirements of PETS in Action, they go through orientation which includes;
- Adherence to the guidelines of making visits
- Recieving a schedule & description of facilites
- Doing a walk-through visit without their dog with an experienced team member to see how a visit is conducted
- Doing a hands-on visit with their dog with an experienced team member observing for questions & support.
- Selecting a schedule & facility for visiting.
Group Activities -
- PETS has quarterly fun gatherings for members
- PETS march in both the 4th of July and Christmas parades.
- Bi-Annual Fund Raisers
Facilities Visited -
- Gold City Convalescent & Assisted Living
- North Woods Retirement Home
