Returning to NGCSU
File Reactivation
- Beginning Fall Semester 2008, only the students who are away from NGCSU for three terms (a year) or
more must reapply for admission. All other students will remain active
and will continue as their fellow students.
- Please check the Undergraduate
Admissions site for more information about readmission and deadlines. Specific questions
can be emailed to admissions@ngcsu.edu (for non-cadets) or
cadetrecruiting@ngcsu.edu (for cadets). Please specify
that you are returning from deployment or ADT.
- All returning students must submit official transcripts for all work completed during their absence
from NGCSU.
- Returning students should also update their records online in
Banner regarding any changes in address,
phone number, major and/or minor and resolve any holds listed on their account.
Housing
- A student returning to the Corps who is interested in on campus housing must contact the
Assistant Commandant's office (at 706-864-1793) for information regarding application procedures,
availability and deadlines.
- Any non-cadet student who is interested in on campus housing must contact the
Office of Residence Life
for information regarding application procedures, availability and deadlines.
Financial Aid Application
- Students should email the Office of Financial Aid with questions at
finaid@ngcsu.edu.
Advisement
- Each student at NGCSU has an assigned academic advisor based on his or her chosen major or area of
study. Students can login to Banner to view
their advisors' names by Viewing Student Information for the term in the Student Records area. Students
who have not chosen a major (open option students) and students in pre-education (with less than 40 hours)
are advised by faculty in the Advisement
Center.
- Returning students must contact their advisors in person or via email regarding a class schedule for
the upcoming term and complete a permit to register.

If your academic advisor is not available, please contact the department head for your major and/or the
departmental secretary for assistance. A listing of the Academic Schools & Departments is available
here.
- Students who have less than 45 earned hours or who are on academic probation or academic warning are
required to seek an alternate or second PIN number (ALTPin) from their advisors prior to registration.
Certain business majors who had a GPA less than a 2.0 in the prior term are also required to seek an
ALTPin as well. This ALTPin must be given before access to the Registration area of Banner is permitted.
Registration
- Students who have been away from NGCSU for less than one year will register (or pre-register) with
fellow students as a continuing student according to times listed in the
Registration & Reporting Guide for the term.
- Students who are away from NGCSU for a year or more must reapply and be accepted to NGCSU. They must
then meet with their advisors to complete a permit to register and then contact the
Registrar's office
regarding upcoming registration periods.
- If extinuating circumstances exist regarding registration, students returning from deployment or ADT
will be directed to contact the Director of Instruction/Executive Officer in the Military Science
