We are proud of our students and alumni who have earned these great accomplishments.

2008-2009  (See also the list of students and alumni who presented papers at conferences.)

LaFrance, T. Casey, '05 Casey completed his Ph.D. degree in political science on March 16, 2009, at Northern Illinois University.  His dissertation was entitled Stars and Shields:  Perceptions of Accountability in the Decision-Making Processes of County Sheriffs and Municipal Police Chiefs.  He accepted a faculty position in political science at Western Illinois University, effective August 2009.
Levely, Karson G. Karson has been working as a graduate assistant for Dr. Donna A. Gessell, executive director of regional engagement.  Dr. Gessell called Karson one of the greatest resources ever made available to Dr. Gessell.
Karson created a new design, compatible with NGCSU's new Web-site design, for the M.P.A. Student Association.  The new design supplants the previous 7-year-old version, created by the very talented Nicole Whitley, '02, in 2001 (thanks, Nicole!).  The new design has been called "riveting" and "awesome."
Shirley, Rebecca A. "Becca" As an intern for the City of Dahlonega's Downtown Development Authority, Becca coordinated Dahlonega's Great American Cleanup - Keep America Beautiful Campaign and Dahlonega's Arbor Day celebration.  The result of Becca's work included securing for the city recognition as a "Preserve America Community" and a national Tree City, as well as a "Tree City USA Growth Award."
