PROGRAM CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES PROGRAM FOR NINTH ANNUAL
GEORGIA PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION ACADEMIC CONFERENCE

     The ninth annual Georgia Public Administration Academic Conference will take place on Friday, March 2, on the campus of Kennesaw State University.

     Dr. Martha A. Griffith, chapter president and the conference's program chairman, has announced the program.

KSU CONFERENCE ON SUBURBANIZATION SET FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 13

     The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Kennesaw State University is hosting its fifth annual conference on suburbanization on Friday, April 13, 2007, in the University Rooms on the first floor of the Carmichael Student Center.  The theme of the conference is, "What works in suburban growth:  Challenges and opportunities."  This year’s conference provides a platform on suburban governments, community groups, educators, practitioners, residents, researchers, and students to learn and share experiences and insights.  The conference consists of plenary presentations, panel presentations, and discussions and a keynote address given by State Senator Chip Rogers who will discuss the controversial Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act.

     Among the topics and issues to be examined include suburban demographics and growth; crime and drugs; homeland security; immigration and multiculturalism; K-12 and higher education; citizen and community involvement; local and regional government; management and planning; and transportation, mass transit, and traffic.
