Proposed Amendment 1: To add the existence of Comptroller to the Constitution

Proposed Amendment 3: To separate the duties of Secretary from Treasurer and to add the duties of Comptroller to Bylaws

Section 3. Secretary-Treasurer
a. Shall keep all minutes, books, and records of the Graduate Student Senate.
b. Shall give financial report to the Graduate Student Senate at regularly scheduled meetings and make available formal financial statements as requested.
c. Shall submit quarterly transaction records to the Comptroller of the Student Government Association.

a. Shall keep all minutes, books, and records of the GSS
Section 4. Comptroller
- Shall create and maintain fiscal year budget for the GSS
- Shall review travel and event funds request and generate a recommendation to be presented to the GSS for approval.
- Shall keep up-to-date records regarding the GSS bank account.
- Shall give financial report to the GSS at regularly scheduled meetings and make available formal financial statements as requested.
- Shall submit quarterly transaction records to the Comptroller of the Student Government Association

Proposed Amendment 4: To remove budgetary committee (see reasoning below)

Article IV- Committees
Section 2. There shall be a budget committee consisting of the Executive Council and their designees.
Proposed (in bold)
Remove Section 2, The addition of the Comptroller position makes this committee unnecessary. Each department submits a budget request to the Comptroller and the Comptroller then compiles a proposed budget which includes all budget requests. The GSS as a whole must then approve the proposed budget before it is submitted to the SGA for approval.
