Duties:

  1. The committee is responsible for reviewing selection procedures; soliciting and evaluating nominations; presenting recommendations to the Council; and making award presentations for the following awards.
  2. The committee is responsible for administering the Dot Strother Alumni Scholarship by reviewing selection procedures; soliciting and evaluating scholarship applications; presenting recommendations to the Council; and announcing scholarship award(s).

Responsibilities are in the following areas:

Awards

  1. Alumni

Hall of Fame - Candidates recommended for the Hall of Fame Award are alumni who have distinguished themselves through professional careers and/or outstanding contributions to community service. A maximum of one award presented per year.

Distinguished Alumnus - Candidates recommended for the Distinguished Alumni Award are alumni who have an extraordinary extended record of service and support to NGC or NGCSU. A maximum of two recipients per year can be chosen.

Young Alumnus Award - Candidates recommended for the Young Alumnus Award are alumni, within their first 20 years of graduation from NGC or NGCSU, who have distinguished themselves through outstanding professional careers and/or outstanding contributions to community service.

Schedule and Deadlines:

  1. Review nominations prior to January 1 of each year.
  2. Present candidates to Council at winter meeting.
  3. Present awards during Parents-Alumni Weekend.

Scholarship

Dot Strother Alumni Scholarship

  1. Review Application & Selection Criteria
  2. Solicit and Evaluate Applications
  3. Conduct Interviews of candidates
  4. Present recommendation(s) to Council

Schedule and Deadlines:

  1. Receive applications prior to March 1 of each fiscal year.
  2. Interview prior to April PAW Council Meeting.
