College admissions teams connect
From The Northeast Georgian

A new working relationship is being forged between the admissions staffs from both North Georgia Technical College and North Georgia College & State University.
Following the recent articulation agreement announcement between the two schools, the two admissions teams met briefly on the North Georgia campus to share ideas and exchange information.
"We just wanted to put faces with names," says Amanda Mitchell, NGTC's admissions director.
Bearing brownies and strawberries, a small contingent from NGTC travelled to Dahlonega recently. The goal was to give the two departments a chance to learn more about each other and discuss details of the admissions process for aspiring students. While the processes for admissions are relatively similar, there are differences in criteria and deadlines.
"This partnership gives incoming students more flexibility with the entry into a college environment," said Jennifer Chadwick, director of undergraduate admissions at North Georgia College. "We want to help every student who comes to us achieve their academic goals."
Both colleges offer accredited courses of study with a full complement of student services, and enrollment at both schools is climbing.
"We've been pairing up on the road for the past several months," Justin Dudkiewicz, NGTC's recruiter, said, referring to another developing partnership with North Georgia's recruiting team. "It's great to see this kind of activity start to pay off."
Admission information on either school is easy to find from their respective Web sites: apache.northgeorgia.edu and www.northgatech.edu . Or, you can call North Georgia College at 706-864-1800 and North Georgia Tech at 706-754-7700.
