NGCSU News Feed

What are RSS Feeds?

RSS feeds allow you to subscribe to news on the Internet for free and “feed” it to one location on your computer (or supported portable electronics) for viewing. As news is published on your favorite Web sites, it is sent to your “feed reader,” and surfing the Web for the content you want becomes a thing of the past.

Subscribing to an RSS Feed

  • To receive news through our RSS feed, you need a RSS reader. Readers come in all shapes and sizes.
  • Free software is available for Windows and Macintosh operating systems and either works through an Internet browser or directly on your computer. FeedDemon is an example of a freeware program.
  • Many Web browsers, such as Firefox and Safari, have integrated support for RSS feeds. Browser-based RSS readers are popular and some examples include My Yahoo and Google Reader.
  • After selecting a feed reader, you may subscribe to our RSS feed by looking for the standard orange icon and copying the Web address, or URL, associated with it and copying that link into your reader.
  • Your subscription will deliver the latest North Georgia College & State University news directly to you without having to visit our Web site for that particular news content. But don’t forget to visit and see what events and campus activities are taking place. We hope you enjoy and thank you for staying connected.
