Dahlonega, Ga. (Aug. 31, 2009) - The TeamMBA program in the North Georgia College & State University's Mike Cottrell School of Business is beginning its second year of classes, offering business students a graduate-level opportunity to develop teamwork and leadership skills and a global perspective.

The program began with 25 students in 2008 and has added 24 students for its second cohort this year.

The two-year program is designed especially for the region's working professionals, with classes two evenings per week and a convenient location just off Hwy. 400 at the business school's Graduate Center in the Cumming City Hall.

"Using a cohort model, each group of students studies and progresses together, and it gives them a chance to work together and develop career-essential skills," John Douglas, program director, said. "We are excited to have students with a wide array of educational backgrounds and professional work experience."

Beginning in October, the TeamMBA program will host monthly open house events from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Graduate Center in Cumming. The center features large classroom space, meeting facilities, and technology-rich conference areas. Students in the MBA program also benefit from the center's library, computer stations, and break-out study areas.
