This division in the IIT Department exists to
provide for our institution critical services to
maximize productivity and support the decision
making process. DMG maintains a reporting
system that generates useful information
from complex data residing in various
databases. The DMG is responsible for integrating
solutions from third-party providers
with our Student Information System.
North Georgia College & State University enjoys
unique culture and status as the Military
College of Georgia and a premier liberal arts
institution. The uniqueness of our institution
chronically drives the need to develop highly
customized systems. Therefore, DMG creates
and maintains essential software solutions
and modifies Banner baseline products
to actively support the numerous local processes
used by various departments. It also
provides the University with state-of-the-art
dynamic online representation, Self Service
Banner, to support all students, faculty and
staff. The group enables the automation of
manual business processes to promote internal
efficiency, enable timely response, and
provide better services.
The Data Management Group acquires the
most sophisticated Computer Programmers,
System Administrator, and Database Administrator.
The group applies advanced project
management methodology and software
analysis and design techniques. Such an
implementation allows the group to utilize all
available assets, boost resource capacity,
guarantee information availability and guard
the organization’s critical and sensitive data
as well as verify data integrity.
