Technical College Course Credit Acceptence Policy |
This memo is to advise all students of the following: The Georgia Board of Regents allows any University or College to accept courses at level 190 or higher from a Technical College, even if the Technical College is not accredited by SACS. Each course is evaluated on an individual basis to determine if it meets the standard for NGCSU. Even though NGCSU may accept a course from a Technical College, there may be a problem for you as a student if you go to another university to pursue a BSN. For example if we approved a Math course from a Technical College for the ASN, another university may not accept it and you would have to retake the course when pursing your BSN at that University or College. Also you need to be aware that not all courses at the Technical Colleges are approved by NGCSU if the school is not accredited. For example at North Metro Technical College, only the following courses are approved: North Metro equivalent to NGCSU:
Therefore, you may want to think about taking your core courses at other accredited schools if you plan to pursue a BSN at any school other than NGCSU. The following Technical Colleges are accredited:
